Spring Conference Report

April 2008

HAPTA’s Spring Conference was a great success. Sixty-two PT’s/PTA’s showed up to take Shirley Sahrmann’s Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement System Impairment Syndromes. Shirley wowed the crowd with her extensive knowledge and experience, as well as entertaining us with her vibrant sense of humor. Many thanks go to Bianca Hoang and Michelle Garcia, our dynamic two-woman Continuing Education team.

Our HAPTA spring business meeting was held at lunchtime on the first day of the course. New board members were introduced and reports were given. Ed Ho, PTA Caucus Representative and Liaison to the State Board of Physical Therapy, updated us on HAPTA’s Strategic Plan.

Lisa Curtis, our Public Relations Chair, gave an informative presentation Sunday morning on APTA’s Core Values. Lisa welcomes your help with public relations events; she can be contacted at lisa.c.curtis@gmail.com.

HAPTA looks forward to offering other great continuing education opportunities here in Hawaii. We welcome your help—with ideas, planning, and yes, simple little tasks like helping with course registration, mailing flyers, and making phone calls. To help out, please contact bhoangpt@gmail.com.

See you all at the next event!
