This course addresses issues related to planning and preparing for physical therapist or physical
therapist assistant students during clinical internships, including developing learning experiences and
supporting learning through questioning and effective feedback. Student performance evaluation as
well as the identification and management of students with exceptional situations are also discussed.
The course also includes information regarding the legal implications for the clinical educator including
issues presented by ADA legislation. This course is useful for both new and experienced clinical
instructors. While the information covers basic skills for clinical instructors, the interactive tasks and
large and small group discussions will be of benefit even to experienced clinical educators.
